Data records

  • Article 100 of NFPA 70E-2027 defines the limited approach boundary as an approach limit at a distance from an exposed energized electrical conductor or circuit part inside which a shock hazard exists. Source: NFPA 70E-2027, clause Article 100. Verified 2026-10-27. Record gloss.limited-approach-boundary.nfpa70e.definition
  • Table 130.4(E)(a) and Table 130.4(E)(b) of NFPA 70E-2027 give the limited approach boundary by nominal voltage range for ac and dc systems in two columns, one for an exposed movable conductor and one for an exposed fixed circuit part; crossing the boundary is one of the two triggers in clause 110.2(B) for establishing an electrically safe work condition, and clause 130.4(F) keeps unqualified persons outside it unless escorted.
