An informational note to Table 130.7(C)(15)(a) of NFPA 70E-2027 gives typical clearing times by protective device type, from a current-limiting fuse or current-limiting molded-case breaker in its current-limiting range, through molded-case and insulated-case breakers with instantaneous trips and relay-operated medium-voltage breakers, to low-voltage power and insulated-case breakers with short-time delay, whose clearing time is the longest in the note; the clearing time is the quantity an arc energy reduction setting changes.
